    Come on in. Meet the staff at the Ellie Towne Flowing Wells Community Center who would like to extend a warm welcome to everyone. Take a tour of the center and learn about our various programs. The center has something for everyone. If we don’t have it now, mention your idea. We are open to new programming ideas. You do not have to be a resident of the Flowing Wells area to join in on the fun, educational programs, great food and so much more. Also, we now have Wi-Fi connection at the center.

    Classes/Programs

    KAPP: Kids And Parent Playtime kids playing

    This 8 week program is for children ages 3-5 years who are toilet trained and their parent/s. A variety of activities are offered which may include arts and crafts, music, story time, nutrition education, early learning skills, socialization, sports skills, active games, and much more. Parent must accompany the child and remain on premises during the entire program. Additional parent programming may be available. Please contact the community center for more information. Registration is by lottery.
    Fall KAPPS, Two Classes: Monday and Wednesday, Tuesday and Thursday 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
    You may only register for one of the choices.
    Session 4:  August 11-October 2, 2014
    Registration (by lottery): July 28-August 1, 2014 (10:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.)

    After-School Program

    Pima County Natural Resources, Parks and Recreation facilities are not licensed childcare facilities under section 36-882 of A.R.S. The school-age youth programs are “at will” drop in programs and youth enrolled in the programs may come and go of their own volition.

    The after-school program is for children ages 5-13. 5-year-olds must be enrolled in elementary school. Activities include homework help, reading program, group games, sports, arts and crafts, board and table games, special events, and more. The program is free except for some special events.
    Session: August-December, 2014
    Registration (by lottery): July 7-11, 2014 during business hours

    Instructor: Kitt Ott
    Join in the fun, social life and benefits from low-impact exercises-stretching, strengthening, and endurance.
    Classes: Monday, Wednesday and Friday, 9:30-10:30 a.m. No fee.

    Enhance Fitness

    Instructor: Dianna Kelley, Rosanda Diaz and Danielle Reed 
    Exercise for participants 60 years or older that wish to improve balance, strength and cardio health. Come in and talk to us about the class on a class day shortly before or after scheduled class time.
    Classes: Monday, Wednesday and Friday 1:30-2:30 p.m.

    Computer Lab

    Services provided by the Pima County Library include computer classes, open lab and community booking. Call 888-0918 for more information.
    Fee: Free

    Senior Nutrition Program

    This program offers nutritious meals for older adults giving them the opportunity to dine with others and take part in social, recreational, and educational activities. Registration is required. Program is sponsored by Pima Council on Aging. A $2.00 donation requested for lunch.
    Lunch: Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, 10:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. Lunch is served at noon.

    senior field tripACES offers group activities, recreational programs and 
    volunteer opportunities to Pima County adults age 50 and older. Our goal is to provide a variety of pleasurable experiences that will enrich and enhance the social, educational and physical well being of all who participate in ACES. ACES provides social interaction through games, luncheons with entertainment, day and overnight trips, theater presentations, movies and the opportunity to take part in community service projects.

    Business meetings and activity registration
    First Tuesday of every month, 10:30 a.m.
    Meetings are held in the ACES room with monthly activity registrations beginning at 10:00 a.m. Registration for activities works on a first-come, first-served basis, with those attending the business meetings being first.

    Seniors may obtain updated information about events, trips, classes, meetings, and services by reading the monthly newsletter, the ACES Scuttlebutt, distributed at the monthly business meeting. ACES encourages volunteerism as a form of recreation. Members are actively involved in collecting items for Youth on Their Own and provide assistance to schools. ACES provides baby bonnets for newborns at Northwest Hospital and volunteer for a number of county and city special events that are in need of assistance.
