Pima County Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act Four Year Plan
The Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) of 2014, Public Law (Pub. L. 113–128), reauthorizes the Workforce Investment Act (WIA) of 1998. WIOA provides the opportunity to align “workforce investment, education and economic development systems in support of a comprehensive, accessible, high–quality workforce development system in the United States.”
Over the past several years the Pima County One-Stop has worked to create an innovative and comprehensive workforce development system to meet the needs of its growing population. With the implementation of WIOA, Arizona and Pima County now have the perfect opportunity to create positive change that will improve the workforce development system as a whole.
