Communications Office Copy

The Pima County Communications Office proactively supports Pima County's mission and strategic objectives. The Office’s mission is to enhance the County's visibility, image and reputation throughout Arizona, the United States and internationally.

The Office has multiple responsibilities:

Media assistance – We help journalists connect with the county sources they need for their stories; and we provide media outlets news releases about county governance, programs, initiatives and people.
Public Communications – We use multiple media to inform the public about the governance of Pima County, including a county newsletter (to begin in January), the county’s website, social media, news releases, public events and printed material.
Graphic Design – We serve as the primary graphic design department for a majority of county departments. We design flyers, brochures, posters, banners and more.
Photography and Videography – Visual communication is a big part of our mission. We help visually illustrate the programs and projects of the county, and produce informational and promotional videos about the county and for county departments.
Information Service – Communications serves as the county’s telephone operator and staffs the information window in the main county administration building, 130 W. Congress (which also is the Communications main office).

The Communications Office is divided into two divisions, Public Communications and Graphic Design/Visual Arts. For the Public Communications side, the manager and four writers assist county departments with their communications needs. They also serve as media liaison to help connect the media to sources in county departments.

Graphic Design and Visual Arts Staff Directory

The Graphic Design and Visual Arts Division serves as the primary graphic design department for a majority of county departments. The department designs flyers, brochures, posters, banners and more. The Visual Arts staff provide photography for county departments and the Communications Office press releases, and produce informational, explanatory and promotional videos about county services and programs.
