  • Update and Traffic Signal Work on Thornydale Road

    Intersection WorkThis week, Pima County Department of Transportation (DOT) and their contractor, Southern Arizona Paving, will continue working on Thornydale Road. The following is the anticipated work schedule:

    Tuesday, October 2 through Friday, October 5: The contractor will install headers and finish milling the east and west shoulders of Thornydale Road from Cortaro Farms Road to Pecos Way. Work hours will be between 6 a.m. and approximately 4 p.m. Motorists can expect a continuation of switched lanes and reduced speed. Sheriff’s deputies will be assisting through the work zone.

    Wednesday, October 3: DOT staff will be installing state-of-the-art traffic regulation cameras at the intersection of Thornydale Road and Overton Road. Work will take place between 7 a.m. and approximately 1 p.m. and requires turning off the intersection traffic signals. Sheriff’s deputies will be on-site directing traffic. Work will be completed in one (1) day.

    Motorists are encouraged to use an alternate route.
    Please approach the area with caution and obey all traffic control devices. Expect delays during this work.

    In the event of mechanical failure or inclement weather, the construction schedule is subject to change.
