Pavement Preservation WorkOn Thursday, November 15, through Monday, November 19, between the hours of 6 a.m. and 6 p.m., Pima County Department of Transportation along with their contractor, Southern Arizona Paving, will be performing a rolled compacted concrete treatment on San Joaquin Road just north of the Bopp Road intersection.

Due to the curing time for the concrete treatment, traffic will be detoured at this location. Traffic will be detoured to Bopp Road to Neal Avenue, onto San Joaquin. Local traffic only will be allowed through the work zone.

This segment is part of the Pavement Treatment Testing Project on San Joaquin Road between Old Ajo Highway and Milky Way Drive. Several alternative pavement treatments will be applied in multiple 1,000 ft. test sections covering both directions of traffic for approximately 4.3 miles. For more information on the test project, visit www.pima.gov/transportation and click on the Pavement Treatment Testing link.

Motorists can expect delays in this area. Sheriff’s deputy will be directing traffic at this location. Please approach the area with caution and obey all traffic control devices.

In the event of mechanical failure or inclement weather, the construction schedule is subject to change.
