    Notice of the Pima County Board of Supervisors 

    Justice of the Peace, Precinct 9 - Vacancy Appointment Process


    The Pima County Board of Supervisors is accepting Letters of Interest, Resumes and Financial Disclosure Statement Forms from individuals interested in being considered for appointment to fill the vacancy of Justice of the Peace, Precinct 9. All documents should be submitted to:

    The submission deadline is Friday, February 8, 2019, at 5:00 p.m.

    To be eligible to fill the vacancy, an individual must be:
    • 18 years of age or older at the time of the appointment;
    • Registered to vote in the precinct;
    • A resident of the precinct (precinct map available at www.pima.gov): and
    • The same political party as the person vacating the office, in this case a Democrat.
    The Financial Disclosure Statement Form and Instruction Manual can be obtained from the Pima County Homepage, by emailing a request to the Clerk of the Board at COB_Mail@pima.gov or by calling 520-724-8449.

    The names of individuals to be considered for the appointment will be posted to the Pima County Homepage as submissions are received.

    Comments in support or concern may be submitted to the Clerk of the Board via U.S. Mail at the address above or by email at COB_Mail@pima.gov.

    A public forum to introduce and interview the individuals will be conducted by the League of Women Voters of Greater Tucson on Wednesday, February 13, 2019, at 6:00 p.m., at the Pima County Department of Transportation Facility, located at 1313 S. Mission Road, Training Room, Tucson, Arizona. 

    The Pima County Board of Supervisors will make the appointment to fill the vacancy at their meeting on Tuesday, March 5, 2019.  The individual appointed will serve the remainder of the unexpired term (through 2020). A new election will be held at the General Election in November 2020.
