The Pima County One-Stop Career Center ARIZONA@WORK will host a job event May 6 at the Kino Event Center, 2805 E. Ajo Way, targeting workers recently affected by layoffs at Concentrix, Carondelet and Citi, though all job-seekers are welcome.

Staff from the One-Stop and Department of Economic Security will share with the affected workers the services available to them, including how to file for unemployment, during an overview information session from 9 to 10:30 a.m. From 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., they can visit with up to 45 employers who will be on hand, ready to hire.
    Job seeker and employer
Any and all job-seekers are welcome to come meet with employers from noon to 3 p.m.

ARIZONA@WORK staff jumped into action in the last several weeks when Concentrix, Carondelet, Citi and the Arizona Daily Star all announced layoffs, affecting several hundred workers. Staff members have been meeting with the affected employees to connect them to services available to them under the federal Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act.

The One-Stop also has helped these dislocated workers with job searches, resume preparation and connecting them with training opportunities. A number of employers also have reached out to the One-Stop, asking how they can connect the affected employees with job openings at their companies.
    Employers expected to attend are:

ADP, Afni, Agero, Alorica, Amazon Workforce Staffing, American Red Cross, Amphi, Ascensus, AZ Mentors, AZ State Prison Marana/ MMCCTF, Bass and Associates, Bayview Asset Management, Bon Voyage Travel, Call 24 Answer, C3 Connect, Centene, Chamberlain, Citi, City of Tucson, Cord Blood Registry, Coworx, Cyracom, DLH Corp, GC Services, Geico, Imperfect Produce, Jim Click, La Frontera, Letco Medical, Stuart Lippman and Associates, Inc., Marjorel, Mister, Nesco, Pima County Sheriff’s Department, Poly Print, Sears Call Center, Speedway LLC, Staff Matters, State of Arizona, Truly Nolen (Call Center), Tucson Federal Credit Union, United Cerebral Palsy, United States Army, Valley Wide Security LLC, and VXI Communications.
