September can be a sobering reminder of the way the world changed on the 11th in 2001. none

But it’s also a time to express gratitude for the role that first responders play in keeping our community safe.

Pima Animal Care Center would like to say thank you by recognizing first responders with our September adoption special. We’ll waive adoption fees for any dog or cat for all of our first responders, whether they’re police, fire, military, paramedics or emergency medical technicians.

There’s a popular bumper sticker that asks, “Who rescued who?” The lessons pets teach – about love, loyalty and gratitude – are those that resonate with many in the community, and particularly with those who have chosen to dedicate their lives to service.

A $15 licensing fee for dogs still applies.

Additionally in September, and available to anyone in the community, Tucson Cold Wet Noses has offered to pay for dental needs, blood work and spay/neuter for senior animals up for rescue. Senior pets have a lot of love to offer, and tend to be more settled and less work than younger, higher-energy pets.
