GradingOn Wednesday, August 28 and Thursday, August 29, between the hours of 6:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Pima County Department of Transportation along with its contractor Southern Arizona Paving, will begin paving operations along Houghton Road.

Crews will begin placing asphalt along the west shoulder from just south of Pantano High School south to Andrada Road.

Flagging operations and Pima County Sheriff’s Deputies will be present. The contractor will continue to pilot vehicles through the project work zone. Heavy delays are likely and motorists are asked to seek alternate routes and to plan ahead. Motorists may use Wilmot Road or Wentworth Road as alternate routes that both lead to I-10.

The project will improve safety and preserve the existing pavement along Houghton Road from Andrada Polytechnic High School south to Andrada Road. The project will also include seal coat from Andrada Polytechnic High School to Sahuarita Road. The project is scheduled to be completed by fall of 2019.

Please approach the area with caution and obey all traffic control devices.

In the event of mechanical failure or inclement weather, the construction schedule is subject to change.
