Whether you’re handy with a screwdriver, or just want to romp in the park with a grateful bundle of fur, Pima Animal Care Center could use your help on New Year’s Day.none

The community was very generous over the Christmas holidays, supplying us with more than 60 elevated beds that will keep our dogs comfortable when they move into our new tent facility next year.

We could use some help putting them together.

And with about 200 dogs in the shelter, extra legs would be welcome to help our dogs get out for a walk around the park behind our adoption center. Some extra hands to play with our cats would be appreciated as well. Just having a little kindness, attention and adventure helps give our pets a break from the routine of shelter life and helps them stay hopeful while they wait for new homes.

The event starts at 10 a.m. until noon.

Free adoptions follow from noon until 3 p.m.! A $15 standard licensing fee will apply.

If you can come, please RSVP and let us know which activity – or both – you’d like to take part in.

Adoption fees for the rest of January will be $30, with pets free if they are seniors or are in the shelter longer than two weeks.

Other holiday hours to note: We will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on New Year’s Eve and the facility is closed Sunday, Dec. 29, for deep cleaning.
