Final paving on The Loop
on the north side of the Rillito from La Cholla Boulevard to Campbell Avenue will start today and will last for the remainder of the week.
The paving will begin at La Cholla and progress toward Campbell.
Because of the relatively fast pace of the final paving operation, a “rolling closure” will be in place. The path will be closed in the immediate area of the paving activity.
Heavy equipment, large paving machines, numerous asphalt rollers and large asphalt delivery vehicles will be present in the vicinity of the work zone.
Path users are advised to avoid the areas of the active paving.
Your patience during this project is very much appreciated.
Pima County has been developing The Loop around metro Tucson with links to Marana, Oro Valley, and South Tucson for residents and visitors on foot, bikes, skates, and horses. When completed, The Loop will total 131 miles and connect the Rillito, Santa Cruz, and Pantano River Parks with the Julian Wash and Harrison Greenways.
