Water and Energy Sustainability Center (WESC)
The 41,000 square foot facility houses a state-of-the-art laboratory complex, office space for the Compliance & Regulatory Affairs, Industrial Wastewater Control and Training and Development Offices. Training rooms include computer labs for computer skill classes and machinery equipment labs to teach repair and maintenance skills to treatment and conveyance operators. The lab is a state certified facility and can offer analytical processes to other public entities such as universities and local, state and federal government agencies.

The Pima County RWRD CRAO Laboratory is not a commercial laboratory. However, it is a state certified facility and can offer analytical processes to other public entities such as universities and local, state and federal government agencies as well as testing for the Water Lab Alliance (WLA) & Emergency Response Laboratory Network (ERLN), upon request and agreement by CRAO Management.

Permitting, Water Quality & Data Management
The Permitting, Water Quality and Data Management sections work collaboratively with one another as they are an important link between the monitoring requirements, efforts and the informed data analysis for assessing & reporting the quality of the water. Permitting is responsible for implementing all federal and state wastewater laws and regulations as Water Quality provides the monitoring efforts to meet the requirements.
Staff Training & Development
The Pima County RWRD Staff Training and Development Section, also located at the WES Center, is comprised of a training team which serves several areas of training and development for the department. The Training and Development staff provides timely training solutions to enhance the ability of all RWRD employees to effectively perform their job duties.
