The new federal health care reform act requires people to have health care insurance beginning January 2014. The Affordable Care Act, also known as Obamacare, will give people new choices for health insurance.
The law creates a way for uninsured people to shop for a plan that works for themselves and their family. People with insurance can also consider some of these new plans.
Although open enrollment for the Affordable Care Act closed March 31, 2014, the next enrollment period is scheduled for November 2014. Residents eligible for state assistance through AHCCCS are able to enroll at any time.
