Want to make a difference? Join us!

Join the largest group of lifesavers in Pima County and volunteer to help PACC pets! At PACC, we rely on more than 1,000 volunteers who contribute a whopping 80,000 hours of volunteer service annually. That’s the equivalent of 40, full-time staff members. We could not save more than 90% of the pets who come through our doors without our incredible volunteer team. If you’re outgoing and passionate about helping people adopt pets, we have a job for you!

We need volunteers for just about everything we do, but our current biggest needs are:

Volunteer and a dog- Medium and large dog adoption counselors. Help families find their perfect match among the 400 or more dogs waiting for new homes. Must be able to safely walk strong dogs of 50 pounds or more.
      - Big dog play group assistants. We give shelter dogs much-needed exercise and enrichment every day in doggie play groups. These volunteers help us get 80 to 100 dogs into play group every day!
      - Medical clinic assistants. Help with care of critically sick and injured pets as well as orphaned puppies and kittens. We’re always looking for people with medical expertise to help with these jobs and some of our volunteers are doctors and nurses.
      - Greeters and adoption specialists. Give shelter tours and help people find their way around and meet adoptable cats and dogs.
      - Outreach and education volunteers. Spread the word about PACC, attend outreach events and welcome school and community groups to PACC.
      - Enrichment volunteers. Provide socialization and enrichment to shy or scared pets or pets who are struggling with the stress of confinement.

    A special volunteer opportunity: Fostering!

Volunteering in our Foster Care program is an extremely rewarding opportunity for both individuals and families. PACC's Foster Program allows our pets who are too young for adoption, who are recovering from surgery or illness, or who are in need of other special care to stay in private homes until they are able to be placed up for adoption.
