    Construction of an outdoor marketplace is underway at Pima County’s Rillito Regional Park, 4502 N. First Ave.

    MarketplaceThe marketplace will be in the southeast corner of the park, next to The Loop shared-use path.

    Pima County is constructing a 12-foot-wide paved path about 600 feet long with three 110-foot-long ramadas to shade shoppers. Vendors will set up in gravel areas along the paved pathway.

    Loop users are encouraged to reduce speed and use caution in the construction area. We appreciate your cooperation and patience.

    The County is also constructing a restroom for visitors to the marketplace and for Loop users.

    The marketplace is expected to be completed in mid-October.

    Pima County Natural Resources, Parks and Recreation has issued a temporary permit to Heirloom Farmers Markets, which has been holding farmers markets at a temporary location west of the Rillito Regional Park construction site since July 6.

    The Heirloom Farmers Market at Rillito Regional Park runs from 8 a.m. to noon every Sunday. On Sunday, Aug. 24, Heirlooms Farmers Markets will host the 11th Annual Chile Festival with chile-themed food, chef demonstrations and live music. Admission is free.
