    Pima County is adding another stretch to The Loop along the east and west banks of the Pantano Wash.

    Pantano WashFind out more at a Regional Flood Control District public open house for the Pantano Wash River Park and Bank Protection: Fort Lowell Park to Tanque Verde Road Project on Wednesday, Oct. 15, at the Morris Udall Center, 7200 E. Tanque Verde Road.

    Please stop by and review project displays between 6 and 7:30 p.m. There will be a short presentation at 6:15 p.m.

    The purpose of this open house is to provide a project update, introduce the public artist and gather additional feedback from the community.

    The proposed project consists of:
    • 1.3 miles of paved pathway on the west bank, and a 0.5-mile extension of the existing paved pathway on the east bank.
    • Bank protection on the west bank of the Pantano Wash between Fort Lowell Park and Tanque Verde Road, and an additional 1,450 linear feet of new soil cement bank protection on the east bank of Pantano Wash north of Tanque Verde Road.
    • An equestrian parking area, public art and landscaping.
