Business Division
The Business Services Division provides revenue, financial, accounts payable and payroll services for the department. Financial services include the development and monitoring of the department's annual budget, as well as revenue and expenditure forecasts. Also included in financial services is the safeguarding of the department's fixed assets. This Division also provides response to management's requests for financial analysis.
Design and Construction Division
This Division is composed of a diversified staff of Architects, Engineers, Interior Designers and other design professionals providing design services for in-house projects, and Project Management for outsourced larger projects. Construction documents for over 300 projects are completed each year. All work is performed directly by staff or outsourced and coordinated by them. The work is designed in compliance with all applicable federal, state and local codes and regulations. The Design and Construction Services Division is composed of three sections; The New Buildings Section whose work is primarily Bond Funded projects; The Renovation and Interiors Section whose projects range from minor space changes to major floor and building renovations, as well as over 400 requests per year involving replacement or initial purchase of Furniture, Fixtures and Equipment. The Construction Management Services Section is responsible for overseeing and inspecting building projects during construction originated from the New Building Section and the Renovations and Interiors Section. Certified Inspectors are responsible for ensuring adherence to the project documents including cost and scheduling controls and compliance with all applicable codes during construction.
Asset Management and Planning Division
The Asset Management and Planning Division support the development and implementation of Pima County Bond programs. This division is responsible for projecting the long term space needs of the County as well as establishing general architectural design parameters for future County facilities. This division also oversees the existing real estate assets of the County including both public and private lease obligations, records management and contractual legal documentation.
Building Maintenance Division
This division is responsible for general maintenance and operation of all Pima County facilities. The professionally managed and operated shops have certified employees in numerous crafts and specialty trades including construction, electrical, electronic, fire safety, locksmiths, plumbing, and refrigeration/heating. In order to better serve facility needs, general maintenance shops serve the Downtown Complex, Ajo Corridor, Mission Road Corridor and Outlying facilities. The Building Services Division provides for the day-to-day maintenance and successful operation of County buildings, ensuring the comfort of all users.
Support Services Division
The Support Services Section is responsible for managing both Vendor Services, and Parking Garage Services Sections. Vendor Services oversees contracted vendor activities inclusive of custodial, pest control, landscape maintenance, and other contracted facility related programs throughout Pima County. The Parking Garage Services Section offers convenient and safe parking at seven downtown parking facilities.
Energy Management Division
The Energy Management Division contributes to the department's mission by ensuring that a comfortable and functional work space environment is provided for all Pima County employees and tenants in county owned facilities. Heating Ventilating and Air Conditioning (HVAC) utilities are administered via two Central Plants that are staffed with Central Plant Systems Technicians twenty-four hours a day. These Technicians monitor and maintain the Energy Management and Controls System (EMCS). The Energy Manager provides an ongoing accounting of facilities energy consumption over time as well as creating a strategic plan for the reduction of overall consumption. The Energy Manager is responsible for administering the comprehensive County facilities energy plan, and tracking the progress of County energy programs. The manager partners with other Facilities Management staff to facilitate building LEED implementation as well as any new construction or renovation that involves EMCS components.
