Maintaining healthy air for Pima County such as Fugitive Dust, Rules & Regulations, Stationary Sources, Air Monitoring, Open Burning, Information & Education, Asbestos and Air Quality Status.

Pima County Department of Environmental Quality (PDEQ) encourages businesses and residents to minimize waste production and reuse and recycle whenever possible.

There are several programs designed to aid in reaching our goal such as Waste Programs, Waste Reduction, Waste Disposal, Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA), and Waste Hauler Permitting & Inspection

Pima County Department of Environmental Quality (PDEQ) is charged with implementing and enforcing certain aspects of the Arizona Department of Environmental Quality's (ADEQ) Safe Drinking Water and Aquifer Protection Permit (APP) rules within Pima County.

PDEQ also investigates ground water pollution around areas such as Tucson International Airport Area Superfund Site. Additionally, PDEQ is itself regulated, as a permittee, to control storm water pollution from the County's municipal storm sewer system.
