This project was designed in phases and delivered as three separate sub-projects:, 4JLRMP, 4JLWST and 4JLMID. The project was a public/private partnership with external funding provided by the TMC/Carondelet Healthcare Foundation. This funding strategy greatly multiplies local funding opportunities providing added benefits to the finished greenway project. The Foundation provided an additional $1,907,000 to the total cost of the new multiuse path.
Improvements include the ramps between Campbell and Alvernon to separate Loop users from the roadway cross traffic. The ramps were designed to use existing box culverts, and were placed to reduce impacts to the wash. Connections were built between the Loop and roadway bike lanes. The longer culverts were lighted for daytime use.
A grand opening event was held November 1, 2014, and included a special health fair in participation with our foundation partners.
