Pima Animal Care Center will continue to have free adoptions of all dogs and cats over the age of three months this weekend Friday through Sunday at PACC’s shelter, 4000 N. Silverbell Road. Additionally, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday only, PACC pets will be available for free adoption at the PetSmart on Oracle and Wetmore and at the Foothills Mall near the Ross Dress for Less store.

These events are part of PetSmart Charities National Pet Adoption Week. This event comes on the heels of recent overcrowding at PACC which prompted the shelter to offer free adoptions May 8 through 10.

“Our community really helped out last weekend and we were able to find 260 animals new forever families,” said José Ocaño, director of shelter operations. “We still have more than 500 animals currently in our shelter and we hope that with these three locations for adoptions, even more Pima County residents will come out and let us help them find their perfect pet.”

The shelter is open from noon to 7 p.m. Friday, and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. The standard licensing fees for dogs over the age of three months will apply at these adoption events, and animals younger than three months will have a $30 adoption fee.
