    Traffic Alert

    North Rillito Interceptor (NRI)
    Sewer Rehabilitation Project

This is a series of traffic alerts that will be issued throughout the construction of the North Rillito Interceptor (NRI) Sewer Rehabilitation Project. These alerts will announce construction, detour and street closure information as it affects residents, businesses and traffic within the area.  The 10-mile long NRI project is being completed in phases; the current phase’s construction boundaries are from Woodland Road to just east of Pantano Road.

On Thursday and Friday, July 23 and 24, and Monday and Tuesday, July 27 and 28, the contractor will begin removing the median on Tanque Verde Road near east Woodland Road. Median removal is in preparation of an upcoming traffic shift along Tanque Verde Road, which will allow the contractor to complete repairs on manholes located in the westbound lanes of Tanque Verde Road along this stretch of roadway. This work will be completed from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. each weekday. The following traffic control will be in place:

Tanque Verde Road will be reduced to one travel lane in each direction through this area.
Traffic along east and westbound Tanque Verde Road will be shifted to the outside lanes (right lane).

Motorists traveling through the area should plan for delays and use alternate routes when possible. Bicyclists and pedestrians should use caution when riding/walking through the area.
