The Pima County Department of Transportation along with its contractor, Falcone Brothers and Associates, Inc., continue construction of the Coronado School Walkway and Bike Path Safety Improvement project on the north side of Wilds Road and the west side of Bowman Road.

Several activities are currently underway that will impact both vehicular traffic and pedestrian traffic. These activities include: installation of preservation fencing, grading, curb, ford walls, and culvert pipe. In some areas these activities may cross into the travel lanes and traffic controls will be set-up accordingly.

The pedestrian pathway along Bowman Road will also be under construction when students return to school. Unpaved shoulders on the north side of Wilds Road and on the west side of Bowman Road will be closed to pedestrian traffic. Pedestrians should stay clear of construction activities and use alternative routes during construction. This project should be completed by mid-October.

In the event of mechanical failure or inclement weather, the construction schedule is subject to change.
