Pima Animal Care Center is reaching full capacity due to a recent increase in animals being dropped off at the shelter. Due to this overcrowding, PACC will be offering free adoptions of adult dogs and cats (over the age of 3 months) today, July 31 through Sunday, August 2. The standard licensing fees for dogs will still apply.

Happy dog“We are now stretched to full capacity with two and three dogs in a kennel,” said José Ocaño, Director of Shelter Operations. “We’re hoping Pima County residents will open their hearts and homes to a new family member.”

In addition to the free adoptions of adult dogs and cats, the adoption fee for puppies and kittens will only be $30 per animal. The shelter, located at 4000 N. Silverbell Road, is open from noon to 7 p.m. Friday and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

Both PetSmart adoption sites today through this weekend will also offer free adoptions. They are open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
