  • Nov. 1 event promotes 'Looping Safely'

    Pima County is teaming up with Fleet Feet Sports to host a "Loop Safely" event Sunday, Nov. 1, 7-10 a.m. at the Heirloom Farmer's Market, 4502 N. 1st Ave. 

    Participants includePima County Natural Resources, Parks & Recreation, the Pima County Sheriff’s Department, and the Bike Ambassador Program. Bike ambassadors will give away bike bells, maps and additional information. Fleet Feet will be handing out safety whistles, water bottles, hydration samples and more. Sheriff's auxiliary volunteers with the Pima County Sheriff's Office also will be on hand.

    Fleet Feet was awarded a grant from Mizuno to help promote safety on The Loop. The funding will pay for additional signs on The Loop that promote safety.

    NRPR also will sell Loop T-shirts at the event.
