Over 300 pets found a home this weekend during Pima Animal Care Center’s Black Friday Weekend Adoption Party, making the event one of the most successful adoption promotions to date.

“Black Friday was the busiest day we have ever had in the shelter. We did 89 adoptions in just four hours,” said Justin Gallick, PACC’s live release manager.

During the four-day promotion, PACC adopted out 317 pets, including 183 dogs and 134 cats. The free adoption event kicked off Nov. 27 and continued through Nov. 30. Best Friends Animal Society and Zappos.com covered all pet adoption fees during this time.

Though that promotion has ended, PACC continues to run adoption specials. Starting today, PACC has reduced pet adoption fees to $30-$50 through the end of the month, plus a standard $16 licensing fee for adult dogs. The discounted rates apply at the shelter, 4000 N. Silverbell Rd., and four participating PetSmart offsite adoption locations.

In addition, Santa plans to visit PACC Dec. 18-20 during the shelter’s $20 pet adoption special. All pets adopted while Santa’s in town will leave the shelter spayed or neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, with a free vet visit, plus they will get a free family portrait with Santa and a gift.
