  • Loop outreach events set for March, April 2016

    Bike rider on the LoopPima County’s Bike Ambassadors will hand out bike bells and maps of The Loop, Pima County’s 100-plus-mile shared use path, as well as other safety items as part of outreach events held through April 24. 

    Bike Ambassadors working with Pima County’s Bicycle and Pedestrian Program will give out the bells on a first come, first served basis. They are adjustable and fit any diameter handlebars on all bikes. They also will have copies of Loop maps that fold down to business-card size and other safety publications. They also will hand out reflective stickers for kids.

    Dates and locations are:
    • Saturday, March 5 - Pantano River at Michael Perry Park (east bank), 8 - 10 a.m.
    • Sunday, March 13 – Rillito River Park Heirloom Farmers Market, 4502 N. 1st Ave., 8 - 10 a.m.
    • Saturday, March 19 – Julian Wash Greenway at Roy Schoonover Trailhead, Kolb and I-10, 8 - 11 a.m.
    • Sunday, March 27 – Harrison Greenway, Irvington Road and Harrison Road, 8 - 11 a.m.
    • Sunday, April 3  –  Rillito River Park Heirloom Farmers Market, 4502 N. 1st Ave., 8 - 11 a.m.
    • Saturday, April 16 – Santa Cruz River Park, west bank, at Park (south of Speedway), 7 - 10 a.m.
    • Saturday, April 23  – Oro Valley Bike Fest, Steam Pump Ranch, 10901 N. Oracle Road, 7 a.m.-2 p.m.
    • Sunday, April 24  – Julian Wash Greenway at Augie Acuna Park (just east of Alvernon), 7 - 10 a.m.
    • Saturday, April 30 - Pantano Path/Harrison path TBD in conjunction with the planned celebration. Details TBA.
