  • Find used furniture at two public auctions March 23-30

    Furniture auctionPima County’s Facilities Management department will hold two public auctions of surplus office furniture and equipment this month. Bidding for the first auction, which is online only, begins March 23 and closes March 30 at 3 p.m. The second auction will be held in person on March 30. 

    The auctions, managed by Pima County auctioneer Rod Robertson Inc., have a number of items up for bid including desks, tables, cabinets, chairs, microwaves, shredders, trashcans, and more. The items came from the vacated Old Courthouse office spaces and the Old Fleet Services Maintenance building. 

    The online auction includes office items from the Old Courthouse, such as desks and tables. Bidding starts March 23 and ends March 30 at 3 p.m. To see the online auction items in person, the department will hold a preview on March 29 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Old Courthouse, 115 N. Church Ave. 

    The in-person auction includes office items from the county’s old Fleet Services building, including several shelving units, tables, chairs, desks and bookcases. This auction will take place on March 30 starting at 9 a.m. at 1313 S. Mission Road. Parking is free. Those interested in previewing the auction items should arrive between 8 a.m. and 9 a.m. on the day of the auction.
     
    Before bidding, participants must complete a free registration online or in-person. Those interested in bidding on items from the online auction must register online by March 29. Registration for the in-person auction will take place at the auction site. 

    All items from both auctions will be sold as is. In addition, buyers must arrange for pick-up and loading.
