new pay stationOn May 2, Pima County’s Facilities Management will activate a new payment system in El Presidio Parking Garage, 160 W. Alameda Street, allowing visitors more payment options for parking.

The new system, which includes a new pay station, comes as part of recent upgrades to Presidio’s parking access control equipment. Activation of this new system will allow visitors to use cash in addition to credit or debit cards to pay for parking, an option that was previously unavailable.

The new pay station is located on A-level next to elevator four in the southeast corner of the garage. Since the exit gates will no longer have a cashier attendant, hourly parkers must pay for parking prior to getting back in their vehicles. Customers will also need to insert their paid ticket into the machine as they exit the garage.

El Presidio Garage has approximately 575 parking spaces and is conveniently located beneath El Presidio Park, between Tucson City Hall and the Old Pima County Courthouse. The three-level underground parking structure is open Monday through Friday from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. Visitors can enter and exit the garage from Alameda Street or Pennington Street.
