Baseball competition could send youngsters to MLB All-Star Game

Boys and girls age 7-14 can take part in a free Pitch, Hit & Run Competition beginning at 7:30 a.m. Saturday, May 14, that may land them a chance to compete on national TV at the All-Star Game July 12 in San Diego. 



PACC celebrates National Adopt a Shelter Pet Day with free adoptions 

What better way to celebrate National Adopt a Shelter Pet Day April 30 than by actually going out and adopting a shelter pet? Pima Animal Care Center will offer free pet adoptions all weekend long, April 29 to May 1 on all pets over six months.

Valencia Road RTA project now complete

On April 21, Pima County and Regional Transportation Authority (RTA) officials, along with several members of the community gathered to celebrate the completion of phase two of the Valencia Road, Mark Road to Wade Road roadway project.



New Office of Emergency Management site serves as one-stop

The Pima County Office of Emergency Management has launched a new website to provide valuable information for the public during emergency situations both local and regional. 

 Pantano trees  

Pantano tree dedication set for May 6

Tucson Clean & Beautiful, in cooperation with the City of Tucson and Pima County, will dedicate 28 trees May 6 at the Garden of the Flute Players along the Pantano River Park. The ceremony will include a reading of the names for whom the trees have been dedicated and names inscribed at the nearby Children’s Memorial Garden.

Local officers win at SW Police Motorcycle Competition

The Pima County Sheriff’s Department played host to the 20th Annual Southwest Police Motorcycle Training Competition. More than 100 motor officers representing 26 police agencies from around the country participated.
