Bicycle Bell Give-Away

DESCRIPTION: Pima County’s Bicycle and Pedestrian Program will give out bicycle bells on a first come, first-served basis. 

Tour of Hacienda de la Canoa

WHEN:  9 – 10:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.
WHERE: Hacienda de la Canoa, 5375 S. I-19 Frontage Rd., Green Valley
DESCRIPTION: Join a walking tour of the Canoa Ranch headquarters to gain insights into the fascinating stories of the people that lived and worked on the ranch. Visit the historic ranch buildings and corrals, and enjoy scenic views of the Santa Cruz River Valley.

Historical Tour of Agua Caliente Park

DESCRIPTION: Enjoy a guided walk around the lush grounds and historic buildings of Agua Caliente Park and gain insights into the rich farming and ranching history of the site. All ages welcome.

Backlight for Bugs and Star Gazing

WHEN: 7 – 9 p.m.
WHERE: Ironwood Picnic Area, 1548 S. Kinney Rd.
DESCRIPTION: Explore the wonder and unfurl the mysteries of the desert after dark. Pima County naturalists will be on hand to identify and discuss the vast array of insects that are attracted to black lights. Tucson Amateur Astronomy Association volunteers provides an introduction to the night sky and set up telescopes for celestial viewing. Bring flashlights. Weather permitting. All ages welcome. Free

Board of Adjustment 1 meeting

Birding for the Birds

DESCRIPTION: Tucson Audubon Volunteer, Liz Harrison and the volunteer group, Agua Caliente Park Birdbrains, lead a “Big Sit” At Agua Caliente Park. Join this fun morning of birdwatching to raise funds as part of Tucson Audubon’s’ Birdathon 2016. Bring a chair, binoculars and your enthusiasm.  All ages welcome. Free, donations accepted.

County Attorney Investigators Local Retirement Board meeting

Confident and Capable Cyclist (Traffic Skills 101 – Part 1) 

WHEN: 6:30 – 9 p.m.
WHERE: Ward 6 Council Office, 3202 E 1st St.
DESCRIPTION: This course is a primer for those cyclists who wish to gain a full understanding of how to safely operate a bicycle in a variety of situations. The class includes learning how to perform a quick safety check and how to fix a flat. We will discuss state and local laws and riding gear. Participants will go for a ride and practice bike safety skills in a parking lot. Recommended for adults and youth ages 16 and up; ages 13 – 15 ok with a parent. Participants will receive a choice of two free safety items.
