  • Volunteer with Pima County

Pima County is more than a local government. It is, first and foremost, a community of caring people. Many Pima County departments offer a wide variety of volunteer options for anyone who wants to contribute their time and talents to make their home a better place to live.

If you've got a passion to help others, we've probably got an outlet for it. Consider this page a one-stop-shop for County agencies that need volunteers.

    Boards, Commissions and Committees

Pima County has 58 advisory boards, commissions and committees on which more than 500 citizen volunteers serve and provide advice and guidance on numerous matters of public concern, from affordable housing and election integrity to public pensions and open space conservation. Members serve until they are reappointed or replaced. About two dozen of these panels are mandated by state law or federal law. Some are regional, in which the county appoints members to serve with other members appointed by the Tucson City Council or other governments. The County couldn’t function as well as it does without people who are willing to donate their time and expertise to serve on these bodies. Committees vary in size from five to 45 members. Some meet regularly, some just a few times a year and a few only as needed.

Please contact the designated coordinator for each individual board, commission and committee for information about agendas, meeting times, membership or other matters.
