pollsThe Pima County Elections Department has started recruiting poll workers for the Aug. 30 Primary Election and the Nov. 8 General Election, particularly for the polling sites in Sahuarita.

The Elections Department needs approximately 2,000 poll workers for each election to help set up the polling places prior to Election Day, assist voters at the polls, and help maintain the integrity of the election process. The Department estimates they will have approximately 240 polling sites open for each election and will need at least nine poll workers assigned to each site.

Any registered voter in Pima County may be eligible to serve as a poll worker. Those interested should contact the Elections Department to provide their party affiliation and address. Elections staff will begin placing workers at each polling site based on need and party affiliation. Once selected, the poll workers must attend a mandatory training session prior to Election Day.

All poll workers will receive a compensation fee of $130 or more, depending on the type of task they perform.

For more information on how to serve as a poll worker in the upcoming elections, contact the Elections Department at 724-6830.
