  • Tucson Saguaros play for a chance at the finals Aug. 4-6

    Tucson SaguarosAfter holding onto the first place standing all season long, the Tucson Saguaros will host the opening game of the Pecos League Southern Division Championship series at Kino Sports Complex August 4 – 6. 

    The Saguaros will take on the Roswell Invaders, its arch-nemesis who held the second place spot for much of the season and just recently defeated the Alpine Cowboys in the first round of playoffs. 

    The series will take place at Kino Veterans Memorial Stadium, 2500 E. Ajo Way. Games start at 7 p.m. each day. Gates open at 6 p.m. and parking is free.

    General admission tickets for the championship series on sale now at the Tucson Saguaros website for only $7.50 or at the Kino Stadium Novelty Shop, 2500 E. Ajo Way, starting at 4 p.m. on game days. As always, seniors and military personnel can get $6 discounted tickets with a valid ID.

    The winner of this series will play the North Division champ, which could be either the Trinidad Triggers or the Garden City Wind, in the 2016 Pecos League Championship series. If the Tucson Saguaros advance to finals, they will host the first game of the championship series at Kino Veterans Memorial Stadium Aug. 9.

    Aside from some top-notch baseball action, game attendees can expect Thursday and Friday food specials. The “Thirsty Thursdays” drink special will offer $1 beers and $1 sodas after the first pitch and $1 “Hot Dog Nights” on Friday.
