    Martin Lurther King Jr. Apartments (MLK Apartments) are a new 68 unit, fully accessible, affordable public housing development for low-income seniors and individuals with special needs. Constructed by the City of Tucson, the development represents a public private partnership that is part of a larger downtown redevelopment project known as the Depot Plaza. This mixed-used and mixed-income project includes new transit oriented public and market rate housing as well as new retail development. Pima County Affordable Housing Bonds funds have been utilized for public amenities which include a computer lab, library, controlled access lobby, rooftop garden and terrace, multi-purpose and recreation rooms.

    The new MLK Apartments are a 6-story steel frame energy efficient building that has attained a “Silver” certification from the US Green Building Council’s Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) program.
