Join the fight against hunger at Kino Sports Complex on Sept. 17 during the Community Food Bank of Southern Arizona’s annual Hunger Walk.

Adults and kids of all ages are invited to partake in a 1.5-mile walk, which loops around the Shunger walkam Lena Recreation area at the Kino North Complex up to the Community Food Bank’s distribution warehouse, 3003 S. Country Club Road. This family-friendly event includes an educational experience at the food bank, a light breakfast and fun activities after the walk.

Registration starts at 7 a.m. and the walk begins at 8 a.m. Adults pay $20 and kids, 6-12, pay $10. Participants can register in person on the day of the event or in advance online. All proceeds will stay at the Community Food Bank of Southern Arizona benefitting all its hunger assistance programs.

As the Food Bank’s signature event, the Hunger Walk draws a crowd of over 1,000 people. During the walk, participants will visit the food bank’s distribution warehouse where they can see first-hand where donations arrive, get sorted, and then go back out to the community to feed neighbors in need.

“This event is a fun and easy way to help us raise awareness about hunger in our community, as well as the funds needed to continue providing thousands of meals to people in need in Southern Arizona,” said Megan Black, special events coordinator for the Community Food Bank of Southern Arizona.

For more information about this annual event, visit the Hunger Walk website or call (520) 449-8347.
