youth soccerThe Tucson Soccer Academy will hold its 38th annual soccer tournament at Kino Sports Complex Sept. 23-25. Approximately 207 local and out-of-state youth teams from division U8 through U19 will participate.

The tournament kicks off Friday, Sept. 23 at 6 p.m. with several of the local participating teams. By Saturday and Sunday, the tournament will occupy all of the soccer facilities at Kino Sports Complex as each registered team will play at least three games throughout the weekend.

All games will be free to the public, include free parking and offer concession food items for sale. This annual tournament draws over 1,000 spectators throughout the weekend. Most of the participating teams come from the Tucson area and only about 30 percent will travel in from New Mexico, Utah and Phoenix.

Before heading out to the games, spectators should visit the Kino Sports Complex website to see the list of prohibited items and plan accordingly. Guests cannot bring ice coolers or outside food and beverages, except one plastic bottle of water or sports drink per person. The facilities, however, will allow pop-up tents and umbrellas as long as they do not get staked into the ground, and folding lawn chairs.
