What is the Pet Support Center?

The Pet Support Center is a phone-based resource for our community that strives to help people keep their pets. In addition to providing resources, information and counseling, we will be scheduling admission appointments for pet owners who decide they do need to surrender their pets to PACC. Call us at (520) 724-7222.

What types of information and resources is the Pet Support Center able to provide?

The Pet Support Center is able to provide information and resources for low-cost veterinary services, spay/neuter options, low-cost vaccinations, rescue options (both breed-specific and all breed), housing options and solutions, training and behavioral information, domestic violence services, military deployment services, trap - neuter - return services through our Community Cats Project with Best Friends, as well as the humane euthanasia services provided here at PACC. Call us at (520) 724-7222.

What's "managed admissions", why is PACC doing it, and how will it benefit our community shelter?

Managed admissions means we will be scheduling the surrender of healthy pets whose caretakers can wait for an appointment. Managed admissions has been used with great success in private and municipal shelters across the country, and it is the future of sheltering, with a very attainable goal of reducing and ideally eliminating the need to shelter homeless pets. Managed admissions will help us maintain an optimal number of pets being housed in our shelter and allow us to provide a higher level of care. It will help us utilize staff, volunteers and our other resources in the most effective way.
Managed admissions will allow us to better prepare pet owners by giving them one-on-one assistance, allowing them to ready items such veterinary records  prior to arriving and help them expedite their experience if we are unable to help them keep their pet.

Managed admissions will also help reduce the wait time for people who need to surrender strays, who are requesting euthanasia services, or who need immediate emergency assistance. Call us at (520) 724-7222.
