With over 600 pets available for adoption, Pima Animal Care Center officials have decided to waive the adoption fee for all pets Dec. 17-18 during its 2nd Annual Santa Adoption Party.

2015 Santa Adoption PartyNow you can find the perfect holiday gift for you and your family at an affordable price. Santa’s Adoption Party at PACC, 4000 N. Silverbell Road, will be held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Dec. 17-18. An additional $17 licensing fee may also apply to select dogs.

Generous support from Tucson Electric Power and PACC’s nonprofit partner, the Friends of PACC, have made this event possible for a second year in a row. This celebration will feature Santa himself who will give gifts to adopters and pose for family portraits, printed free onsite for adopters, and complimentary hot cocoa and cookies for all who attend. Every adoptive family will also leave with a gift for their new best friend, such as treats or toys.

Even if community members can’t adopt, shelter representatives are still encouraging them to donate an item from the PACC pets’ Wish List, such as pâté-style cat food, canned puppy food, or puppy and kitten formula for orphaned baby pets. You can see the pets’ full wish list on PACC’s donation webpage and you can give online via the shelter’s Amazon Wish List

“Adopting a pet is a gift that goes both ways. You’re not only bringing love to your life, you’re helping save a pet in need,” PACC director of development and marketing, Karen Hollish, said. “We can’t thank TEP enough for supporting our shelter.”

As always, pets adopted will leave the shelter spayed or neutered, vaccinated, micro-chipped, and with a free vet visit, too.
