  • Phase 2 of Mary Ann Cleveland Safe Routes to School Project underway

    road workOn Feb. 6, the Pima County Department of Transportation, Regional Transportation Authority and their contractor, Southern Arizona Paving began Phase II of the Mary Ann Cleveland Safe Routes to School Project, which involves construction of the new walking path.

    A new 8-foot paved pathway approximately 1.1 miles long will be installed along the north side of Mary Ann Cleveland Way, from Red Iron to Driscoll Mountain Drive.Prior to the start of construction, the contractor must first perform clearing and grubbing, survey work and mobilize equipment.

    Please approach the area with caution and obey all traffic control devices. Minor delays may occur during this work. Motorists may wish to seek alternate routes. In the event of mechanical failure or inclement weather, the construction schedule will be subject to change.
