  • Importing Map Data into AutoCAD

AutoCAD users can paste vector clipboard data from MapGuide into a drawing or import the vector data from a PDF file. (AutoCAD users who only want parcels can bypass MapGuide by downloading parcel section maps in DWG format. See Parcel Section Map Download.)

    • First, be sure to read Capturing Your MapGuide View and Capturing Vector Data from the Screen above.
    • To paste the vector clipboard data from MapGuide into an AutoCAD drawing:
      1. In AutoCAD, select "Edit", "Paste Special", then paste as "AutoCAD Entities".
      2. Using AutoCAD tools, move, scale and align the pasted items to spatially match drawing elements that are known to be in their proper location.
    • While we recommend trying the above clipboard method first, AutoCAD users can capture the map data in PDF format and then use techniques described in Importing PDF into CAD Drawings. (Scroll down to "PDF Conversion Method".) The process may be involve more than casual users want to get into.
