    The Pima County Board of Supervisors voted 4-0 April 4 to approve the Fiscal Year 2018 budget hearing schedule. The board will hold four hearings in May to hear reports from all county departments and elected officials on their budget requests for next fiscal year, which begins July 1.

    Elected officials and department directors have been asked to provide the board information about:
    • Recommended operating department expenditures, revenues and operating transfers;
    • Major programs and related services provided by the department;
    • Major costs of providing programs and related services by the department;
    • Significant changes in the recommended FY 2017/18 budget versus the FY 2016/17 adopted budget;
    • Major budget issues the department is facing in FY 2017 / 18; and
    • Requests for supplemental funding over and above the base budget amount.
    The board is scheduled to adopt the tentative budget May 23, which sets the budget ceiling, with final budget adoption scheduled for June 20.
