Rescheduled for 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m. Thursday, May 11.
------------------------------------------
The
Pima County Department of Transportation, the
Regional Transportation Authority and their contractor, Falcone Brothers & Associates, will begin relocating 21 recycled concrete bridge girders to the Rillito River Park. The girders will be prepped before they are placed on the new bridge across Camino de la Tierra.

For safety
reasons Camino del la Tierra at the Rillito River Path will have to be closed to traffic while girders are being set.
For The Loop users, The Loop path on the south bank on both sides of Camino de la Tierra will be closed from The Loop at I-10 to La Cholla Blvd. There will be no access to Camino de la Tierra from the south bank path from either the west or east.
In addition, the construction will completely block the path and the trailhead parking area so there will be no connection between the Rillito River section of The Loop and the Santa Cruz River section of The Loop via the south bank underpass that goes beneath the Railroad and I-10.
Hours of work will be from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sheriffs will be stationed at the closure along with flaggers and message boards at each end of the project. The road will reopen on May 3 by 5:00 p.m.
Please approach the area with caution and obey all traffic control devices. Bicyclists and motorists may wish to seek alternate routes. The improvement project completion is expected to be fall of 2017.
In the event of mechanical failure or inclement weather, the construction schedule will be subject to change.
