  • Pima County seeks input on trails at public meetings May 18 and May 25

    Pima County’s Natural Resources, Parks and Recreation Department will hold two public meetings in May seeking input on trail systems that will be built at and near Tucson Mountain Park.

    Frick propertyAn open house-style meeting on the concept trails plan for the Painted Hills Trails Property at Tucson Mountain Park will be held Thursday, May 18, 5:30-7:30 p.m., at the El Rio Center's Arts and Crafts Room, 1390 W. Speedway Blvd.

    A similar meeting for the Enchanted Hills Property (Frick parcel) near the eastern boundary of Tucson Mountain Park (at west 36th Street) will take place Thursday, May 25, 5:30-7:30 p.m., at TUSD’s Oyama Elementary School, 2700 S. Lane Cholla Blvd. (Pod A Room).

    At both meetings, organizers will place exhibits around the room where the public can provide written comments that will go on the County’s website. Mailers were sent to affected neighborhoods, notifying them of the public meetings.

    “The Painted Hills addition to Tucson Mountain Park and the Enchanted Hills Trails Park will provide trail users with an opportunity to appreciate two new trail systems that will be surrounded with the best of the Sonoran Desert, and have several terrific vista points to enjoy,” Steve Anderson, NRPR planning division manager, said. “We invite anyone who is interested to look at the plans and to provide us with their comments.”Body goes here.
