    The Pima County Library invites County employees to attend these events in June at the Joel D. Valdez Main Library, 101 N. Stone Ave. 

    TEP Home Energizer Workshop

    Noon – 1 p.m.
    Joel D. Valdez Main Library – Lower Level Meeting Room
    All workshop participants will receive a free Energy Efficiency Kit worth more than $40 that includes CFL light bulbs, a low-flow shower head, weather stripping and much more. The workshop is offered for free, courtesy of TEP.
     
    How To Be Happier: Positive Psychology

    Thursday, June 15 
    Noon – 1:30 p.m. 
    Joel D. Valdez Main Library – First Floor Café Area
    This introductory workshop shows that there are ways to increase happiness and gives practical skills to help improve overall well-being. We will review current research and theories of positive psychology, as well as have group activities to accelerate positive change.
    Presented by Dr. Caroline Pyevich.
     
    Build a Better Tucson

    Wednesday, June 21
    Noon – 1 p.m.
    Joel D. Valdez Main Library – First Floor Café Area
    We'll listen to the story of My Grandma's the Mayor and consider in writing and art the ways we can make our community a better place.
    Presented by the author Marge Pellegrino, who is also author of Too Nice and Journey of Dreams.
     
    How to Get the Death You Want

    11 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
    Joel D. Valdez Main Library – First Floor Café Area
    Author talk and book signing by thanatologist and writer John Abraham. This presentation about "How To Get The Death You Want," will review the importance of talking about end-of-life decisions, navigating the medical system and making sure advance directives are honored. The following will also be discussed: The right-to-die movement, the critical factor of being and having a great advocate, the reason some may decide to hasten their death, and much more. Humor and levity included.
