Public Notice: The congregate meals program at Picture Rocks community center will be closed due to well repairs starting Tuesday 11/12/19. We anticipate the closure to last approximately two weeks. Please check back for updates and additional information. You can also call the Picture Rocks community center 682-7166 and leave your contact information to be notified when the program will resume. Classes/Programs

childrenLil’ Reckers

This 6 week program is offered in 4 different sessions throughout the school year, for children ages 3-5 years who are toilet trained. A variety of classes are offered which include activities such as arts and crafts, music, story time, nutrition education, early learning skills, socialization, sports skills, active games, science, and much more. Parent must accompany the child and remain on premises during the entire program. Additional parent programming available. archeryAfter-School Program

Pima County Natural Resources, Parks and Recreation facilities are not licensed childcare facilities under section 36-882 of A.R.S. The school-age youth programs are “at will” drop in programs and youth enrolled in the programs may come and go of their own volition.

The after-school program is for children ages 5-12. 5-year-olds must be enrolled in elementary school. Activities include homework help, reading program, group games, sports, arts and crafts, board and table games, special events, and more. The program is free except for some special events. Please contact the community center for more information or for dates and times check our online registration.

Summer Recreation Program

June-July
The summer recreation program offered June and July, is for children entering 1st through 6th grade in the 2019/2020 school year. Activities include indoor and outdoor recreation, reading program, group games, sports, arts and crafts, board and table games, special events, guest speakers, field trips, environmental education and more. The program is free except for some special events. Please contact the community center for more information or for dates and times check our online registration.

Senior Programs

enhanced fitness classSeniors Group 
Meet first Wednesday each month, 1:15 p.m.
Field trips and special events are discussed and planned at meetings. Guest speakers cover topics of health, finance, and current events. No field trips in June or July.

Enhance Fitness
Monday, Wednesday, Friday, 10:00-11:00 a.m.
Exercise class for strength, balance and coordination. Designed for the mature exerciser. Wear loose, comfortable clothing and closed toe shoes (preferably sneakers). This is an evidenced based-grant provided class. Participants must commit to attending a minimum of 2 days per week. Pre-registration required. Fee based, see instructor for cost.

mealsHummin’ and Strummin’ 
Thursday, 6:00-8:00 p.m.
Musical entertainment with vocal accompaniment. Enjoy listening, participating, and socializing.

Craft Group
Tuesday, 1:00-3:00 p.m.
Members enjoy socializing and doing needlepoint, crocheting, knitting, and other crafts.

Mexican Train Dominoes 
Friday, 1:00 p.m.
Don't know how to play? Don't worry we'll teach you.

Bunko
First Friday of each month, 6:00 p.m.
Enjoy socializing while playing a classic game.  

Line Dancing 
Monday and Wednesday, beginners class 5:30 p.m., intermediate class 6:30 p.m. 
Come socialize and have a ball line dancing.

Watercolors
Thursday, 10:00 a.m. 
Enjoy water coloring and meet new people.

Alcoholics Anonymous
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, 7:15-8:15 p.m.
Al-Anon: Thursday, 7:00-8:00 p.m.

Lending Library 
For those avid readers a lending library is available at the center. The library is kept updated with some of the more recent titles as well as many of the older books. The books are donated by some individuals and some from the public library. Books are checked out on the honor system and we ask that borrowed books are returned so that others may also enjoy them. Open during normal business hours.

Low Cost Meal Program
Monday – Friday, (except holidays), 12:00-1:00 p.m.
Income qualification required.

Public Meetings

Citizens For Picture Rocks: Third Tuesday each month, 6:30-8:00 p.m. Citizens meet to discuss concerns for the Picture Rocks area.

Third Friday, 1:00-2:00 p.m.

Public Computers
We have computers available for public use. The lab is open Monday-Friday, 10:00 a.m.-8:15 p.m.
