Get a jumpstart on your holiday gift giving at Pima Animal Care Center’s Black Fur-Day adoption parties happening Black Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at PACC’s shelter in Tucson and 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Central Pet in Amado. Both locations will offer waived adoption fees on all PACC pets and send adopters home with a free pet starter kit. Each location will also have food, music and raffle prizes. Additional PACC pets will be available from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Petco stores located at River and Craycroft, and Wetmore and First Avenue.

Black Fur-DayPACC’s Black-Fur Day events, made possible by a generous $15,000 grant from the Petco Foundation, will not only help people find their perfect gift, but also place pets in loving new homes just in time for the holidays. Over the weekend, the shelter aims to save 300 pets.

The adoption parties will take place Friday, Nov. 24 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at PACC’s shelter, 4000 N. Silverbell Road, and from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Central Pet in Amado, 2875 I-19 Frontage Road. Each location will have a variety of adoptable dogs, cats, puppies or kittens and offer waived adoption fees. Additional PACC pets will be available for adoption from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Petco stores located at 5625 E. River Road, and 585 E. Wetmore Rd.

Families who adopt from either event will receive a free starter kit for their new pet, made possible by Petco Foundation. And, as always, all pets will go home spayed or neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and with a free vet visit, too. A standard $18 licensing fee will apply to adult dogs.

Additionally, each Black Fur-Day party will have free music, food, activities for kids and pet giveaways from Petco. Those who visit PACC’s shelter from noon to 2 p.m. will get to meet radio personalities from 106.3 FM The Groove and score some free pizza from Papa Murphy’s. Meanwhile, Central Pet visitors will get treated to free Sonoran hot dogs while they look for their new best friend. Visitors at either location can also register to win pet-themed gift baskets.

“We’re so grateful Petco Foundation stepped up to help our pets, and we’re hoping to send 300 deserving dogs and cats home for the holidays,” said PACC Director, Kristen Auerbach.

Although the Black-Fur Day adoption parties are one-day events, PACC’s shelter will extend the waived adoption fees and offer adopter gift through Cyber Monday, Nov. 27. Don’t hesitate – your perfect holiday gift awaits.
