District 4 Supervisor, deputy county administrator honored
The Arizona Transportation Builders Association honored two Pima County officials at its annual awards dinner Jan. 20.
The Association named Deputy Pima County Administrator Carmine DeBonis the Agency/Municipal Member of the year.
“I’m grateful to the Arizona Transportation Builders Association for this honor,” DeBonis said. “This award marks a recognition of Pima County’s commitment to improve service while reducing costs.”
Pima County District 4 Supervisor Steve Christy was named Person of the Year.
“I am honored to receive ATB’s Person of the Year Award,” Christy said. “I’ve always had a real affinity for ATB and have enjoyed a great working relationship over the years with all of ATB’s officers and members. ATB represents the backbone of our transportation industry and I will continue to support its efforts as we work together to ‘Just Fix the Roads.’”
The Arizona Transportation Builders Association has honored other County officials in past years, including County Administrator Chuck Huckelberry, former Deputy County Administrator John Bernal, and Economic Development Director John Moffatt.
ATB represents residential and commercial general contractors, subcontractors, material suppliers, architects, engineers, construction industry service providers, public agencies and craftspeople. The group seeks to promote the common interests of those in the construction industry who build public and private infrastructure, including utility lines; storm and sanitary sewers and drainage; water lines; irrigation and flood control projects; roads and streets; dams; airports and railways; and highways and bridges.
