2018/2019 Medical and Pharmacy Benefits 

Over the years, Pima County has made efforts to help neutralize the rising cost of health care. In 2013, the County became self-insured and has since transitioned to a fully consumer-driven medical plan. bewell

Many members now treat medical services, prescriptions and other items they purchase with planning, research, and cost comparisons.  As a result of the positive impact on costs, the Board of Supervisors unanimously approved the FY 2018/19 employee benefits medical and pharmacy with reduced premiums.

Below are some of the highlights for FY 2018/19 employee benefits:

  • Medical Third Party Administrator (TPA): Aetna
  • Pharmacy Benefit Manager (PBM): CVS/caremark
  • Employee Assistance Program (EAP): Aetna

Last Call for 2018/2019 Healthy Lifestyle Premium Discounts (HLPDs) Eligibility

February 28, 2018 is the deadline to complete the eligibility requirements for 2018/2019 Healthy Lifestyle Premium Discounts (HLPDs) #2 - Health Assessment, #3 - Preventive Exam and #4 - 100 Healthy Lifestyle Activity Points (HLAPs).
Set a reminder to certify your tobacco free status during Annual Enrollment in the Employee Self Service Portal (ADP), April 30, 2018 - May 18, 2018 to earn 18/19 HLPD#1 - Tobacco Free.hlpd

Mobile On-site Mammography (MOM) February 2018 

Mobile Onsite Mammography will be onsite at various Pima County and City of Tucson worksites the week of February 12 to provide mammography services. The service is available to all Pima County employees and spouses/domestic partners. 3D mammography now available and covered at 100 percent through Aetna.
Call 1 (800) 285-0272 to schedule your appointment. Bring your insurance card, your doctor’s name and address, and the location of where you had your prior mammogram films.

You will be responsible for any charges that are not covered under your insurance plan. Patients younger than 30 must bring a doctor’s referral.

Baseline mammograms are recommended at age 35 to 39, (unless family history or symptomatic) and most insurance plans cover women every year over 40 years old. The exam takes about 15 minutes to conduct.

Downtown Farmers Market every 2nd Thursday of the month from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. in El Presidio Park (January - May).market

The Food in Root Farmers Market offers a variety of vendors including those with prepared foods, organic & local produce, health and wellness products, wellness services, massage therapy, artisan products and more. Stop by on your break to take a stroll around the various vendor booths.
