Volunteer for The Loop completion celebration
Pima County needs help to make The Loop completion celebration event a success.
The celebration, planned for March 17, commemorates the completion of the Loop—the 131-mile multi-use trail that spans the metropolitan area. The Loop provides cyclists, pedestrians, joggers and equestrians opportunities to enjoy the beautiful Sonoran Desert on paved, vehicle-free pathways.
Pima County asks employees to volunteer for the celebrations. Those who do will receive a t-shirt and have the opportunity to earn Healthy Lifestyle Activity Points (HLAPs) after completing and submitting a Community Volunteer/Participation Form.
Celebration will be held at the following locations:
Brandi Fenton Memorial Park
3482 E. River Road
9 a.m.-2 p.m.
Kino Stadium North Complex
2817 E. Ajo Way
10 a.m.-3 p.m.
Volunteer duties include:
- Assisting vendors with set up and tear down
- Offering directions and general wayfinding assistance
- Handing out water
- Trash pick-up and clean up
- Assisting with filming social media testimonials
- Distributing information about The Loop
- Assisting with activities in The Loop Tent
Learn more about the celebration at the Loop Completion Celebration webpage.
Volunteer shifts are two hours and may begin an hour before and last an hour after the event times listed above. If interested, please email Catherine Strickland at Catherine.Strickland@pima.gov with your preferred event location (Kino North or Brandi Fenton Park) and t-shirt size by February 15. She will get back with you on specific duties and times.
It’s right around the corner, so please volunteer today so we can order shirts and assign placements.
Whether or not you sign up to volunteer, be sure to mark your calendars and plan to join us with your family and friends on March 17 for this momentous occasion.
