noneApproximately 7,100 registered voters will determine in the fall whether to incorporate the Town of Vail.

The Citizens for Vail committee needed 717 valid signatures to hold an election.

The Pima County Recorder’s Office verified that the committee submitted 1,027 valid signatures.

The Pima County Board of Supervisors will formally call an election, which must be held within 180 days under state statute. The only eligible election will be Nov. 5, 2013.

The proposed area of incorporation is smaller than the Vail School District, which has approximately30,000 registered voters within its boundaries.

This will be the first incorporation election since the 2001 attempted incorporation of Casas Adobes.
